  • SHIPPING

    Joy + Sarcasm is based in Ontario, Canada. Orders are packed and shipped from the Greater Toronto Area.

    Ready-to-ship pieces are generally dispatched within 3–5 business days. Made-to-order and commissioned pieces have longer production times; estimated timing will be noted on the product page or confirmed when your commission is booked.

    Shipping costs are calculated at checkout where available.

    Once an order has been handed over to the carrier, delivery times are outside our control. If something appears to have gone properly astray, get in touch and we’ll help where we can.

    International orders may be subject to duties, taxes or brokerage fees charged by the destination country. These are the responsibility of the purchaser.

    LOCAL DELIVERY / PICKUP

    Local delivery may be available within the GTA for selected orders. Available options will appear at checkout or can be arranged before purchase.

    RETURNS

    Because much of our work is handmade, produced in small quantities or made specifically for you:

    Ready-to-ship, non-custom items may be returned within 14 days of delivery, provided they are unused, undamaged and returned in their original packaging. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.

    Original artwork, commissioned work, personalized items and made-to-order pieces are final sale.

    Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

    If an item arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photographs of the item and packaging so we can work out a replacement, repair or refund as appropriate.

  • Joy + Sarcasm pieces are made and finished by hand. Small variations in brushwork, surface, form and finish are part of the work rather than defects.

    PAINTED GLASSWARE

    • Champagne: encouraged. Dishwasher: absolutely not.

    • Hand wash only with mild soap and lukewarm water.

    • Do not place in the dishwasher.

    • Do not soak.

    • Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads and harsh chemicals.

    • Handle painted areas with reasonable care.

    • Allow to air dry or gently dry with a soft cloth.

    • Unless explicitly stated otherwise, decorative paint is kept away from drinking surfaces.

    WORKS ON PAPER

    • Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight.

    • Frame behind glass or acrylic where possible.

    • Avoid damp or high-humidity environments.

    • Handle original works with clean, dry hands.

    SCULPTURAL OBJECTS

    Care requirements vary by material and will be included with individual pieces. Unless specifically described otherwise, sculptural objects are intended for indoor decorative use and should be kept away from prolonged moisture, excessive heat and direct sunlight.

  • ARE YOUR PIECES HANDMADE?

    Yes. Everything is painted, drawn, formed or finished by hand in Ontario. Some pieces begin with commercially made components before being reworked in the studio. We don't melt our own silica from scratch. Yet.


    WILL MY PIECE LOOK EXACTLY LIKE THE PHOTOGRAPH?

    For original works on paper, the photograph shows the piece you will receive unless otherwise stated.
    Three-dimensional and made-to-order pieces are created individually by hand, so small variations in shape, texture, brushwork and finish are expected.


    DO YOU TAKE COMMISSIONS?

    Yes. Commissions are accepted for painted vessels, works on paper and selected objects. Visit Commissions to enquire.


    HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE?

    Ready-to-ship work generally leaves the studio within 3–5 business days. Made-to-order and commissioned pieces take longer, because unfortunately paint, clay and good decisions all require time. Timing will be confirmed before purchase.


    CAN I REQUEST A DIFFERENT COLOUR?

    For glassware, absolutely. Custom colour palettes are available and can usually be accommodated.
    For other pieces, colour changes may be treated as a commission or made-to-order request and may affect pricing and production time.


    DO YOU SHIP OUTSIDE CANADA?

    Canadian shipping is currently available directly through the website.
    For orders outside Canada, please get in touch before purchasing. We are happy to investigate how many borders your chosen object is prepared to cross.

    Joy + Sarcasm respects your privacy and collects only the personal information reasonably necessary to operate this website, process orders and communicate with customers.

    INFORMATION WE COLLECT

    When you place an order, submit an enquiry, join a mailing list or use this website, we may collect information including your:

    Payment information is processed through third-party payment providers. Joy + Sarcasm does not receive or store your full payment card number.

  • By using this website or placing an order with Joy + Sarcasm, you agree to the following terms.

    PRODUCTS

    Joy + Sarcasm produces handmade and hand-finished artwork and objects. Variations in colour, texture, brushwork, dimensions and finish may occur and are part of the nature of handmade work.

    We make reasonable efforts to photograph and describe work accurately, but colours may appear differently depending on screens and devices.

    PRICING + PAYMENT

    Prices are shown in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated.

    Applicable taxes, shipping and other charges will be shown during checkout where applicable.

    Orders are confirmed once payment has been successfully processed and an order confirmation has been issued.

    AVAILABILITY

    Many pieces are one-of-a-kind or produced in small quantities. We reserve the right to correct errors, cancel an order where an item is unavailable, or refund an order that cannot reasonably be fulfilled.

    COMMISSIONS + CUSTOM WORK

    Commissioned, personalized and made-to-order work may require a deposit before production begins.

    Scope, pricing and timing will be agreed upon before work begins. Once production has begun, deposits and payments may be non-refundable except where required by law.

    Significant changes requested after a commission has begun may result in additional charges or changes to the delivery date.

    SHIPPING + RETURNS

    Shipping, returns and damaged-order procedures are governed by our Shipping + Returns Policy.

    INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

    Artwork, photographs, illustrations, designs, text and other original content appearing on this website remain the intellectual property of Joy + Sarcasm and/or their respective creators.

    Purchasing an original work or object does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.

    Work may not be reproduced, commercially exploited or used to create derivative products without written permission.

    WEBSITE USE

    You may use this website for lawful personal purposes. You may not misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation, or use its content in ways that infringe intellectual property or other legal rights.

    LIABILITY

    To the extent permitted by law, Joy + Sarcasm is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website or products purchased through it.
